1. The Jenks High School Homecoming Parade

This is an annual event highlighting the students at Jenks. Usually taking place in October, the Homecoming Parade consists of floats, teams, clubs, and other various activities for all Jenks students.

Students in grades K-12 can participate and walk in the parade. The parade goes through Main Street, comprised of floats and walking groups. This is one of my favorite events to attend each year! Not only does is highlight accomplishments and students at Jenks Public Schools, but it brings the community together in one location to celebrate our school.

The Jenks High School Homecoming Court is a main feature of this event. The Homecoming Court is elected by students and faculty at Jenks High School and can ride through the parade and stand out for their accomplishments.

  1. Lights On!

Lights On! is a celebration of the holiday season. The annual event starts in late November to kick-off the upcoming Christmas season. This is a free event for all residents and guests of the Jenks community! Venders can set up booths around Main Street Jenks. The lights that hang throughout the rooftops of businesses and strings over Main Street will be lit as the commencement of the celebration. This is a great event to bring friends and family to!

  1. Jenks Herb and Plant Festival

Hosted by the Jenks Garden Club, the Herb and Plant Festival takes place in early spring on Main Street Jenks. This festival features vendor booths that include various plants and herbs that are grown locally. Fresh vegetables, plants, hanging baskets, decorations and more are available to purchase and make for great gifts! I enjoy seeing all the naturally made bath and body products such as soaps and lotions!

  1. Food Truck Festival

This is one of my favorite events! The Jenks America Food Truck Festival is a must-see event. Various food trucks of all different styles can sell their products to Jenks residents and guests. This is a great event for families and friends to enjoy. The multitude of options is great when feeding a large group. Spending the day walking up and down Main Street, sampling different foods and shopping with my friends is one of my favorite things to do while at this event!

  1. Boomfest

Hosted by the City of Jenks, the annual Boomfest firework show on July 4th celebrates Independence Day. This is a must-see event with the largest firework show in the Tulsa region. This is a great family event to attend! The show starts around 9:30 p.m. Various riverfront attractions feature many ways to enjoy this event, such as live music. The Oklahoma Aquarium offers a personal front-row experience to watch the show from their riverfront backyard! There are also food trucks and beverage options provided onsite and available to the attendees. Paid parking at the Aquarium is always available and I recommend bringing a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. The Riverwalk in Jenks also features several events on July 4th that include live music, food and more!
